Vote DANK #YACrushTourney

Hey Ya'll! I'm on my way to Book Bash but I couldn't leave without telling you all about the YA Crush Tourney and just WHY you need to vote Team DANK. EXISTENCE was the first book by Abbi Glines that I read. It was under $5 and it looked good so I grabbed it. Though it took me a day or two to be able to actually sit down and enjoy it, once I was able to, I couldn't put it down. Dank is seriously swoonworthy! He is fiercely protective of Pagan and risks everything to protect her. Plus he plays the guitar and in my mind it doesn't get much better than that. Michelle Flick is advocating for Dank this year and here is the link to her personal blog  Oh! For the Love of Books and her post on A Dash of YA so you can go check out all the reasons you should love and vote for Dank Walker! Or you can just take my word for it and immediately head over to YA Sisterhood and give Dank some love! I'll be back next Wednesday with a post all about Book Bash!

Book Bash is coming up!

I'm super duper stoked that I still get to go to Book Bash! My husband, best friend and her husband are ROAD TRIPPIN' it. Yeppers. In the car for 16 hours. But hey, we did it with 3 kids last November when we took the Blondies to Disney World for the first time so surely 4 adults can handle it, right? I'm bringing Walking Disaster by Jamie Mcguire, Breathe and The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines, and if I can find it, I'd like to bring Sea of Tranquility with me as well. If not, I hope she has copies there that I can buy! I'm sure there will be about a million other books there that I want as well. It's seriously going to be like a kid walking into a toy shop. I hope my husband is prepared. :) Don't forget that when Lark is up to 200 reviews on Amazon I'll be giving away some signed paperback copies to a couple of randomly chosen reviewers. It's sitting at 191 right now so we are soooo close! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send me

The "C" Word

It's probably the scariest word out there. At least I can't really think of a single word that effects me as much as the "C" word does. Just 6 little harmless letters strung together and it leaves me completely breathless. I guess I should probably start at the very beginning. Last August I went in for my normal yearly exam. My midwife Sue asked me how I was feeling and I was literally just complaining like a little whinebag at the time. I told her I had a super bad cough that wasn't going away no matter how many different kind of over the counter cough medicine I had been taking. Nothing was working and sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. She felt my throat and said I felt "knotty" so she wanted me to get some labwork done. I asked why and she seemed hesitant to tell me. I told her I was just going to go home and google it and jump to the worse-possible-scenario conclusion. So she told me that it could be just a coup

Book Signing

Hi everybody! So today was my book signing and I think it went pretty well. I had a steady flow of people for the entire two hours I was there---of course MOST of the people who came were people I knew and my family, but I had a few visitors that I wasn't directly related to! Seriously though, it was still a lot of fun! The biggest surprise of the day was when Heather Sloan (who you may recall from my acknowledgements played a HUGE role in pushing me to finish Lark. She has been my biggest supporter from the beginning) showed up with her sweet mom! They drove all the way from Manhattan! She even brought me a gift: Yep! That is a box of chocolate covered chocolate chip granola bars! <3 She's the best! The owners of Minerva's Candy Company were absolutely wonderful and I'm so thankful to them for hosting my first book signing, being so kind to my children (everytime we go in there Tom give them candy! This mornng he even gave them biscuit and jelly. How sw

FREE 1-day only promotion!

In honor of my very first book signing, LARK is FREE today! So if you know anybody who hasn't picked up their copy yet, be sure to let them know! I'll be back on later tonight to tell you all about my book signing (hopefully people come!)

Teaser from In the Shadows (Lark #2)

Disclosure: This is still a work in progress BUT I haven't blogged in a while so I thought I owed you guys! This excerpt could of course be changed and will of course be edited eventually but I hope you can look past all of that and that it makes you smile. :) Gotta love Mia.... Grey just shakes his head no and goes back to ripping his roll into shreds. I’m not going to lie, that kind of irritates me. Those rolls are freakin’ delicious and he’s just wasting it. “I’m guessing we’re working the same shifts again this weekend?” I ask. “Of course,” Grey looks up at me. “Why wouldn’t we? “I was just checking.” And trying to make conversation to avoid any unnecessary awkward silences, while at the same time trying to distract myself from the way you are viciously mutilating that buttery roll of goodness . Jacoby’s laughter echoes from across the cafeteria and I know without a doubt that he heard my thoughts. I look up and return his smile with a shrug. What can
