Change of Plans

After I released Lark, I was planning on finishing up a contemporary romance (Fall into Me) I started while Lark was being edited and release that this summer and then focus on Lark #2. But lately, I've been missing Mia, Jacoby and Grey so I'm thinking now I might want to put Fall into Me on hold and focus on the sequel to Lark. My goal for this week is to fine-tune my outline. I had a very detailed outline before I started writing the first book and I wrote it in 3 months so obviously outlines work really well for me! LOL I know that some authors can write much quicker than that but for me, since my free time is so limited, I think it's pretty darn good.

I started some character development for a new story I'd like to write as well but it's going to have to sit in the back of my head (and in a folder in my Dropbox) for now..... So many ideas and not nearly enough time in the day. Maybe one day I'll be able to just write full time?

A girl can dream...

Anyway, that's what's going on!

I checked today and Lark has 103 reviews on Amazon now! That's amazing! Thank you to everyone who has left a review. :)

    So fun to read your story today. So appreciative there wasn't a cliffhanger ending but the opening for further stories. Such my favorite combination.

    Since you seem to be responding to popular demand ;} can you do your best to avoid future cliffhangers (between books) as well?

      Hi Amy! Thanks for stopping by and I'm so glad that you enjoyed Lark!
      I am very "anti-cliffhanger" so I can pretty much guarantee I will never write one. :) I feel that each book (even in a series) should still feel 'complete' at the end.

The "C" Word

It's probably the scariest word out there. At least I can't really think of a single word that effects me as much as the "C" word does. Just 6 little harmless letters strung together and it leaves me completely breathless. I guess I should probably start at the very beginning. Last August I went in for my normal yearly exam. My midwife Sue asked me how I was feeling and I was literally just complaining like a little whinebag at the time. I told her I had a super bad cough that wasn't going away no matter how many different kind of over the counter cough medicine I had been taking. Nothing was working and sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. She felt my throat and said I felt "knotty" so she wanted me to get some labwork done. Nightingale: Spellbinding YA book about witches
