Cover Reveal *mature eyes only*

Title: Sexed Into Submission Author: Julie Bailes Cover Design: MGBookcovers Release Date:  August 14, 2014 Synopsis: ***Contains BDSM material. Intended for mature audience only. NOT for the easily offended.*** The daughter of a house wife whore, and a screw-all-his-clients attorney, I learned early on that trust can’t be given and love doesn’t truly exist. Sure, maybe it exists in fa irytales, but this is real life and it’s ugly. Love, lust, anger, and joy, emotions, in general, are for the weak and I don’t do them.  I’m a hell-on-heels heartbreaker who can’t be tamed, or so I thought. This dominating, possessive, and sinfully sexy piece of man storms into my life and his only mission is to break me down like a house of cards caught in the middle of a windstorm. Ryder is shaking my world, flipping it upside down, and stirring my emotions like a hurricane. I’m feeling things I’ve never felt before and doing things I normally don’t

It's not exactly a secret...

It's not exactly a secret that I suck at this whole blogging thing. But I bet that my readers would rather me spend time writing stories than random blog posts anyway so I guess I don't feel THAT bad. ;) As it is, I figured I'd pop on over here and just give a little update about what my writing "schedule" looks like for the rest of the year and into 2015 (is it blowing anyone else's mind that 2015 is right around the corner?). I use the term "schedule" very loosely because I don't necessarily have a strict one. It's more of a guideline really. :) Currently I'm writing Sea Swept . I'm pretty sure Riptide (the short story prequel) is finished (just waiting on first round edits for that one). I'm about 10K away from my typical "First Draft Word Count Goal" and only halfway through writing the actual STORY. So I think it's safe to say that Sea Swept will be longer than Lark . I'm weirdly excited about that. Nex

Gone Blog Tour

Tess Walters’ life is perfect. She has everything she’s ever wanted all wrapped up in her boyfriend Alec. But Alec has a different plan and one day, he’s gone. Tess is devastated. She doesn’t remember how to be herself and she doesn’t want to. Her family believes she needs to move on and get over him. It’s easier said than done. Tess doesn’t know where to begin because everywhere she turns, she thinks of Alec. She doesn’t think this heartbreak will ever stop. Eventually, Tess finds comfort in places she never realized she had. From there she discovers a person she never knew she could be I love how Michelle always nails the teenage voice without making her characters overly angsty or make stupid mistakes. They seem so real that you feel like you know them. Gone is a story I think everybody can relate to because I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought my high school sweetheart was THE ONE and ended up believing my life was over when the relationship ended. Spotlight: Laura Howard

Hello everybody! Today I'm spotlighting the author of The Danaan Trilogy. Laura Howard is known for her quirky random questions on Facebook. I've recently read The Forgotten Ones and I definitely think fans of my Lark Trilogy would enjoy this series as well. I have already downloaded Stone of Destiny and I can't wait to read it! Stone of Destiny (The Danaan Trilogy Book 2) by Laura Howard Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance Blurb: Allison thought it was crazy enough when she found out her father, Liam, wasn't entirely human. But now she has to join his magical allies to unravel his former mistress's plans. Aoife wants to keep Allison's parents apart forever. Despite Allison's efforts to keep Ethan, the only guy she's ever cared about, out of this supernatural mess, fate keeps throwing him back into the mix. Will Allison be able to find the amulet that holds the enchantment Aoife placed on Liam and destroy it? Are Ethan' s feelings

Cover Reveal: Sea Swept

Even though it will be early next year before I publish this so it's probably really early to reveal the cover, I am anyway! I'm a rebel like that! No seriously, I have a good reason. :) Since I'm naming the main character in Sea Swept after my daughter Addie, it seemed only fitting to reveal the cover and blurb on her birthday! So Happy 7th Birthday Addie-cakes! Here's the cover to YOUR story:            Addie McKay has always had an intense fear of the water. For as long as she can remember, she has had terrifying nightmares of drowning so she's made it a habit to avoid the ocean at all costs —which made growing up with the Atlantic Ocean in her backyard rather difficult.          At fifteen years old, all of her friends spend their free time swimming in the cove behind her house, but Addie just can't make herself get that close to the sea. She prefers to stay dry on the sand where the risk of actually drowning is impossible.          She'

Teaser Tuesday!

XOXO

Like the Dawn: 3 Fun Facts

1. When I originally was outlining Like the Dawn , Klaus and Hugo were originally Kristoff and Hans. If you have small children and/or are a Disney fanatic (or both like me!), you might recognize those names.   (For those of you without children or a particular fondness for Disney, Google the movie FROZEN) I ultimately decided to change their names since I already had an Elsa in there and that was just too much. 2. Without revealing any spoilers...the ending was how I envisioned the series ending when I first thought of it BUT at some point while writing In the Shadows, I almost second-guessed myself and considered writing a completely different ending. Ultimately, I went with my original plan....though I did toy with the idea of writing out the alternative ending and letting readers choose which version they wanted to read. LOL But that seemed pretty complicated. 3.Some of my google searches while writing Like the Dawn included: * How to win a sword fight * How to correctly

Teaser Tuesday (and a release date!)

Teaser Tuesday!

Unedited of course...... “ You know, I wouldn't be opposed to being with you here, alone. I was just under the impression that's the last thing you wanted.” “You can't know what I want.” “And why is that?” “Because I'm not really sure myself,” I admit quietly. He reaches out tucks a wayward strain of my hair back behind my ear. The small gesture sends shivers down my spine and my breath catches in my chest—which he notices immediately. “That's not true.” “What do you mean that's not true?” I snap. “You know exactly what you want. You're just too afraid to admit it.” “You don't know anything.” “Perhaps, but I know your heart.” Like the Dawn...  coming SOON

Hello!

Sorry for being such a slacker blogger! Actually I've kinda been a slacker when it comes to all social media lately. :/ I'm still working on Like the Dawn. It's been a much slower process this time around because not only did both my #1 editor and my #2 editor lose family members recently, I had an abnormal scan last Tuesday (my first annual scan post cancer and it's abnormal--boo!), so I've been a little stressed out about that. I had a biopsy done yesterday and I should hear more by Friday--why do they make us wait so long for results? Anyway, so since Heather and Maya were both unable to start editing right away, I decided to do another read through of my own and I've been adding in some bits and pieces as I go so it's taking me a while to get through it. My goal is to finish my read through by Friday (shooting for earlier) and send it to both of them this weekend. Bad news is: an April release is not likely....good news is: it's almost May and it WIL

Blog Hop! My Writing Process

It's time for a Blog Hop! I LOVE these things! I was tagged by PA Warren who just published her first book LIFE AFTER. It's pretty straight forward--just answer the questions and tag two other authors. :) Fun stuff!  What am I working on? Currently I'm working on the final installment of the Lark trilogy, Like the Dawn . I'm almost finished writing my first draft--like 5,000 words away! How does my work differ from others of its genre? Hmmmm.....well, I hope that my work is different because I'M different. :) I write YA Fantasy with a hint of comedy and romance. I also have two college-age romance books out right now (one I co-wrote with the amazing Komal Kant) and even though it's super popular right now, I can't make myself write a graphic sex scene--I blush and get all awkward about it so my NA books are clean with just a hint of steaminess. Why do I write what I do? Because I think I might secretly be a teenager in an *almost* 30-year-old b

A New WIP!

Don't worry! I'm not starting to work on this yet--I'm still finishing up Like the Dawn ! BUT I did have an idea the other day that I had to write down for my next book because it wouldn't let me concentrate on anything else until I did. You see, Lark is named after my youngest daughter. Mia started off as a "filler" name until I found the perfect name and then it ended up being perfect so it stuck. Well, my oldest daughter was very upset that I didn't write HER a book. Sooooooooooo I told her I would some day, but I had no idea when because honestly, I didn't really have any inspiration for another fantasy story until recently. The other day my husband forced me to watch this "documentary" on the Animal Planet about how mermaids are real and he was really getting into it. Like, seriously convinced that mermaids are real and everything so I teased him and said my next book I'd write about mermaids just for him. I was mostly joking--I

Teaser Tuesday: Like the Dawn (Lark #3)

Time for another teaser! (Seriously can't stop staring at this cover...it's so pretty! I can't believe it's mine! Eden did an amazing job. It's totally my favorite of the three. The colors and the whimsical feel--I just adore it.) Okay enough about my cover....scroll on down for the teaser!                      He smiles as though he's humoring me but I can tell he wants this. He wants to open himself up to me. And the more he talks, the easier it is to picture it—my life with him. He's good and kind and he loves me. I know that he would do anything for me, but I fear he may be right—because as easy as it is to picture being happy with him, I know that it's just as likely to end in heartbreak. Especially now that my heart has been changed and I'm not really sure where he fits any more.         But it is still nice, being here with him right now under the stars.

Teaser Tuesday: Like the Dawn (Lark #3)

Unedited and subjected to change of course but................here's a little teaser from Like the Dawn! “Of course you aren't required to take a husband—not yet anyway—but everyone knows that males are naturally more competent rulers so it just makes sense.” “What's that supposed—” “And on that note—Princess, shall I escort you to your seat?” Grey steers me away quickly before I do something stupid like punch Blaise in the face. Males are more competent rulers? Is he serious? There is just something about stupid boys that makes me turn violent. Somewhere in the back of my mind I hear Jacoby chuckling. I halt my steps and Grey turns back to see what's wrong. “It's nothing. Just the voices in my head distracting me like normal.” “Mia, you know that's not exactly 'normal',” he says with that crooked smile that I love.

Confusion

Hey guys! I just wanted to clear up some confusion. Goodreads has listed two books by another Erica Cope as being mine. THEY ARE NOT. "New Beginnings" and "A Heart full of Love" are NOT written by me. I don't know why this is happening. I've had a Goodreads Librarian delete "New Beginnings" from my books twice now but it keeps popping up and today the other book popped up as being mine as well. Just didn't want anyone to be confused! If it's not listed on my blog, it's not mine. :)

One Year

Today is Lark's birthday! It's hard to believe that one year ago today I said to my husband, "Okay, I'm going to do it." and hit "publish". I don't think I slept a wink that night waiting for the book I spent an entire year working on to go "live".  So much has happened since then that on one hand I can hardly believe it's been a whole year and on the other I feel like this has always been my life.  Since I currently don't have any paperbacks to giveaway to celebrate my first official year of being an author (I really need to order another shipment soon!) and Like the Dawn (Lark #3) isn't ready to be published yet (though Unfamiliar is close!), I thought the least I could do is share another teaser.               Grey leads me out of the hall and into the gardens. This is the place I feel the most at ease in this new life of mine. It's like I derive my strength from outside in the tranquility of these garden
